On-loan Celtic striker Nadir Ciftci is struggling South of the Border.
The Plymouth Herald have reported that Plymouth Argyle’s reported interest in Simon Church could see them terminate Celtic man Nadir Cifcti’s loan agreement.
The Turkish striker joined the League One side on a season-long loan in August after Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers deemed him surplus to requirements.
However, it has been a dismal first couple of months in England and Ciftci is yet to score in six league starts.
The former Dundee United man, who joined Celtic for £1.5 million under Ronny Deila almost three years ago, was dropped from the squad completely last weekend and was an unused sub in their last three league games prior to that.
The Plymouth Herald reports that there is “every chance” that manager Derek Adams could prematurely end the Celtic man’s stint based on the prospect of former Wales international Church joining the Home Park side.
But it seems extraordinarily unlikely that he will have a role to play under Rodgers, with Leigh Griffiths, Moussa Dembele and Edouard Odsonne ahead of him in the pecking order in Glasgow.
Ciftci has been sent out on loan three times by the Northern Irish manager, which says it all about how highly he rates – or doesn’t rate – the 25-year-old.
