Celtic striker Moussa Dembele has been linked with a move to Marseille in the summer transfer window.

Marseille have held talks with Celtic over the transfer of Moussa Dembele, according to Sky Sports.

According to the report, the French club and the Scottish Premiership outfit held talks in Glasgow on Saturday when Marseille played Rangers at Ibrox in a pre-season friendly match.

It has been reported that Celtic are asking for a transfer fee in the region of £20 million to part company with Dembele.

Celtic's Moussa Dembele in action

The 21-year-old striker is one of the best players at Celtic and is one of the best young players in entire Europe.

As reported by Sky Sports, the Frenchman scored as many as 32 goals for the Glasgow giants during the 2016-17 campaign, and he is hugely popular among the Celtic Park faithful.

Given that talks have (reportedly) taken place between Marseille and Celtic, it does seem that Dembele could be out of Celtic Park in the summer transfer window – and it would come as a shock given just how good he was last season and that he has been at Celtic for just a year.

After all, if the Bhoys were not interested in selling the former Fulham youngster, then why would they even entertain the idea of holding talks?

Of course, manager Brendan Rodgers would not sanction the move until after the final Champions League qualifying game next month, but this latest report does suggest that the Hoops are open to the idea of playing the 2017-18 campaign without the France Under-21 international.
