West Ham United are said to be ‘unlikely’ to sign another full-back this summer.
West Ham only have limited funds remaining to spend, which means that loans and free agents are on the wishlist at the London Stadium.
Pellegrini doesn’t feel that he needs to make any additions at left-back though, and that could be a risky move.
West Ham’s current team looks so strong going forward, after the arrivals of Pablo Fornals and Sebastian Haller this summer.
However, there is a fear that West Ham’s squad could be becoming slightly top heavy.
At left-back especially there are concerns, with both Aaron Cresswell and Arthur Masuaku facing question marks over their ability.
Cresswell struggled for form and fitness last season, while Masuaku’s looks vulnerable defensively, despite all his attacking talents.
It means that West Ham could be left with a position of weakness, unless one of their current options improves dramatically.
And Pellegrini’s decision not to sign a left-back could prove costly as the season progresses.
