Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke hopes to feature in the Carabao Cup.

Liverpool youngster Dominic Solanke is having to be patient in his second season at the club.
While the Reds’ first team were winning at Wembley against Tottenham last Saturday, Solanke was playing for the under-23s.
Daniel Sturridge is ahead of Solanke in the pecking order, so Solanke will have been desperately targeting an appearance in the Carabao Cup next week.
Liverpool take on Solanke’s former club Chelsea at Anfield, and the stage is perfectly set for the England under-21 international to re-announce himself.
There is one potential problem; Solanke is battling injury.
Solanke suffered a knock in the under-21 win over Swansea, and PremierInjuries.com rate him as only 50 per cent to be available for Liverpool this weekend against Southampton.

He is unlikely to feature then in any case, and will be targeting a return for next Wednesday’s fixture.
It would be so cruel if fitness denied Solanke his chance, and may be even worse if he rushes back not fully fit and does not do himself justice.
