Yet it is not their scoring which is letting them down, with only five other teams in the second tier of English football having netted more and Leon Clarke the division’s topscorer with 14 goals, but their defence which is becoming increasingly leaky.
A season-ending injury to Paul Coutts in midfield has not helped either and it would perhaps be better the bolster those areas before adding Ulloa to an attacking line that already boasts Clarke, Billy Sharp, Clayton Donaldson and Ched Evans.
