The Leeds United player did well on Saturday but many Whites fans were still calling for Ronaldo Vieira?

Given Ronaldo Vieira’s age and recent struggles to maintain his superb early-season form, it was no surprise to see the Leeds United teenager benched for the weekend clash with Sheffield Wednesday.
In his place, Whites skipper Liam Bridcutt returned to the starting line-up while Eunan O’Kane kept his place for the third league game running.
The problem for the latter is that despite putting in a solid performance against the Owls, there will always be some Leeds fans who throw their hands up in disgust whenever he starts ahead of Vieira.
There is no doubting the teenager’s quality and the fact that, in time, he will become one of the best midfielders in the country. However, it would be foolish to expect too much too soon and O’Kane is a more than able alternative.
In fact, against a Wednesday side fighting to overtake Leeds in the play-off places, the summer signing did a great job nullifying their threat, tracking back and ensuring Garry Monk’s side ultimately ran out 1-0 winners.
O’Kane may be fighting a losing battle when it comes to winning over his Leeds critics. But the truth is all three of the club’s central midfielders have a role to play this season and he is certainly not being left in the shade.
