Leeds boss said he did not want to approach Tottenham for loan signings.
Fresh reports linking Juan Foyth to Leeds United have raised a pledge manager Bielsa made back in August.
AS Argentina claimed last week that Leeds hope to sign Foyth on loan from Tottenham Hotspur in January.
The move looks like it would suit all parties, but it would go against Bielsa’s comments that he would look to sign Tottenham players.
Bielsa said in August that he did not wish to lean on his connections to Pep Guardiola and Mauricio Pochettino to sign players.
He made these comments after signing Jack Harrison on loan from City, and made clear he would not pursue any more in the summer.
Bielsa told the Yorkshire Evening Post: “I don’t think it would have been a good thing to do to use a personal relationship of respect and love you have for both of them for a professional reason. You don’t have to manipulate the professional decisions.”
Foyth may be worth making an exception for, and it’s in Tottenham’s interests to send the young defender out due to his lack of first team football at present.
He is a player Bielsa has wanted for two years, with Argentine outlet TYC reporting he wanted to sign him for Lille.
It could be though that the Leeds boss decides to stick to his promise not to look to Tottenham, and decides to seek alternatives elsewhere.
