Surely Lee Hodson has no future with Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers anymore.

Rangers have been boosted by the inclusion of Umar Sadiq and Lassana Coulibaly in their Europa League squad for the upcoming qualifying tie with Osijek.

The duo, who joined Rangers on loan from Roma and Angers respectively this month, could be in line to make their debuts for the Gers on Thursday after being granted international clearance.

Ryan Kent, who joined the Ibrox side on loan on Sunday, has not been registered for the tie in time, but another interesting omission is Lee Hodson.

The 26-year-old defender has been left out entirely and you have to imagine it is a clear sign that Steven Gerrard plans to move him on before the transfer window shuts.

Earlier this month, Hodson, who was signed by Mark Warburton in 2016, told The Record that he plans on staying in Glasgow, but this snub is a major indication that he isn’t needed or wanted.

Even Graham Dorrans and Jordan Rossiter – both of whom are injured – were included in Gerrard’s squad and Hodson’s absence is very telling.

Rangers fans will be delighted to see the back of the Northern Ireland international – who has been linked with Rotherham and St Mirren in recent weeks – because, well, he hasn’t impressed at all during his two-year stint, and this is surely the first step toward his exit.

The full squad can be viewed on UEFA’s official website.
