In a recent interview published by the Scotsman, Celtic youngster Jack Aitchison explained the impact Bhoys defender Kolo Toure had off the field.

The Ivorian may have only played a bit-part on the pitch this season, but off it he appears to be doing a great job building the confidence of the club’s next generation.

“He told me I was one of the best he’d seen so that gives me the belief I can go quite far,” Aitchison told the Scotsman, and the impact those words could have on the Celtic youngster’s career should not be understated.

Toure knows what he is talking about having played with some of the best strikers in the game, and while he may only be 17 Aitchison has already shown glimpses of his undeniable talent, scoring once and setting up another in his only two Celtic appearances to date.

The Bhoys have a number of impressive youngsters in the ranks and Toure’s presence and experience mean he could be one of their most important guides as they take the first tentative steps towards regular first-team football.

With just 14 appearances in all competitions for Celtic this season Toure is nearing the end of his time in Scotland, but before he goes he could lay the groundwork for a future Bhoys star to be born.
