The Manchester City number one has once again attacked his teammates, which could cost him an FA Cup final start.
Joe Hart has not been afraid to wear his heart on his sleeve this season and the majority of Manchester City fans would prefer him to remain just like that for the rest of his career.
He has ripped into the team once again following the club’s defeat away at Tottenham Hotspur last weekend with comments that may cause Roberto Mancini to leave him out of the side for the FA Cup final against Wigan.
Mancini has reacted angrily at times this season, accusing his goalkeeper of being just as guilty of making mistakes that have cost the side, when Hart has challenged the quality of some of his teammates.
“I just thought we took our foot off the gas and you can’t do that – We messed up in Europe and we have had plenty of weeks rest so I don’t think that is what it is down to. It was just a poor second half,” he told City TV.
The problem is that Mancini may have been thinking about bring Hart back for the FA Cup final, as he’s previously been left out for Costel Pantilimon.
Hart is no stranger to high pressure situations having played in some massive fixtures throughout his City career and as the current number one for the England national team, which guarantees a decent performance in a final situation at Wembley.
He’s now been left in the awkward situation where he’s going to look a little contradictory if he doesn’t react towards Hart’s comments in the same way he did before.
He cited Hart as one of the players who has regularly made mistakes throughout the season, which were not appearing in his game throughout last season as City won their first Premier League title.
The 26-year-old remains the best goalkeeper at the club but he’s put the manager in a very difficult position in terms of subtly challenging his authority, which Mancini has never taken well to.
If Mancini is annoyed in the same way that he was annoyed before then the ultimate punishment is to obviously leave Hart out of the biggest game the club has left this season.
That would certainly guarantee that Hart, and other players, would certainly think twice before they are quick to come out and criticise the side the next time they endure a bad loss.
