Things could be about to get worse for Tottenham Hotspur’s Jack Clarke at Leeds United.

One Leeds United signing should be devastated over last night’s League Cup defeat by Stoke City – and it’s not Jack Harrison.
Harrison missed the penalty which handed Stoke the victory over a United side that came from two goals behind to draw 2-2 in regulation.
The 22-year-old, on loan from Manchester City, was the picture of disappointment after the game, but one Leeds addition might be a tad more deflated and that’s Jack Clarke.
Clarke re-signed for Marcelo Bielsa’s side on loan from Tottenham Hotspur but so far his only football has come in the League Cup, the competition that they’ve just been knocked out of.
Worse yet, the 18-year-old, who hasn’t kicked a ball in the Championship this season, was taken off at half-time after a trying first 45 minutes at Elland Road last night.
A good performance would’ve strengthened his chances of playing in the league, but the fact that Clarke – who is struggling to even make matchday squads in the Championship – appeared to play poorly is worrying.
So, if Bielsa doesn’t play him in the league, and can’t play him in the Carabao Cup any longer, the logical step would be for the Argentine to recommend Under-23 football under Carlos Corberan.
It would be so embarrassing for Clarke, a player who Tottenham spent £8.5 million on [The Sun], but it might be a necessary step nonetheless.
Spurs, who have the option to recall him in January [Football London], won’t like it at all, but the stark fact is that he isn’t good enough for Bielsa’s first team right now and development football is still better than no football.
