Tottenham Hotspur fans have been left wishing that they went for Roberto Mancini rather than Paulo Fonseca.

Tottenham are set to announce Fonseca as their new boss in the coming days, after well over 50 days of searching.

His appointment has not been unanimously popular at Tottenham, though.

And many Spurs fans feel that Mancini would have been a better option, after watching his Italy side storm to a 3-0 victory over Switzerland last night.

Never mentioned

Italy have now made a roaring start to the tournament, and become one of the leading contenders to win the competition.

The Italians have netted six goals across two matches and are still yet to concede.

Mancini was a name who never really cropped up on Tottenham’s radar, and that may be some surprise.

Mancini has won the Premier League before, and has a proven track record of success.

But, perhaps, the fact that he wouldn’t be available until after Euro 2020 was part of the reason why Spurs never made a move.
