Jay-Roy Grot surely has no future at Leeds United.
Leeds United’s Jay-Roy Grot broke his dry spell in front of goal on Saturday.
The Dutch striker, on loan at VVV Venlo, scored in the 1-1 draw with Fortuna yesterday.
In doing so, Grot, a £1.5 million signing by Leeds in 2018 [The Express], ended a 10-game barren run, with his last goal coming way back in January.
Grot is due back at Elland Road this summer but it seems unlikely that he has much future in West Yorkshire, regardless what league United are in.
The 21-year-old has only managed four goals in 29 Eredivisie appearances since leaving the Whites on loan.
It’s a terrible return and one that really doesn’t prompt the belief that he could make it in the Championship, let alone the Premier League.
If Marcelo Bielsa’s side win their next four games, they’ll be promoted back into the top flight, but it seems plausible that no matter what happens, the Argentine could dump Grot this summer.
He is young, but if he was going to make it in English football then the signs would be far more encouraging.
