Kalvin Phillips needs to be dropped by Leeds United coach Thomas Christiansen.

In an attacking sense, nobody can deny Kalvin Phillips’s improvement for Leeds United this season.
Eleven games in and the 21-year-old has four Championship goals which, considering he only scored one last season, is a massive increase.

But defensively, the youngster – who has started all 11 of United’s league outings – is lacking and head coach Thomas Christiansen should replace him with Mateusz Klich or Ronaldo Vieira when Reading visit Elland Road in two weeks.
Leeds went down 3-0 at Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday and Phillips was among several visiting players who couldn’t and shouldn’t have left Hillsborough with a high head.

For the first goal, Phillips was caught napping and was slow to react as Gary Hooper crept in behind him to nod the Owls ahead. In possession he could have been a little better too and misplaced 13 passes – more than any other outfield player on the pitch.
Being a Thorp Arch academy product, Phillips is a popular figure among Leeds supporters but he simply hasn’t done enough over the past two away defeats to justify starting the clash with Reading on October 14.
