Everton defender Seamus Coleman has struggled since Marco Silva has taken over.
It may be horrible to admit, but the time may have come for Everton to consider replacing Seamus Coleman.
Coleman has become a fans’ favourite at Goodison Park ever since joining, with his passion and whole-hearted performances earning him plenty of credit.
The Republic of Ireland international often wears the armband for Everton, and there is no doubting he is a brilliant role model.
However, on the pitch, there must be some questions over whether he is good enough to play for Silva’s side.
Coleman was expected to thrive in Silva’s system, which encourages Everton’s full-backs to push on frequently, and plays to his natural attacking strengths.
But Coleman has looked shaky so far this season, and his performance against Watford last night was again poor.
Coleman was partly at fault for both goals which Everton conceded against the Hornets, as he continued to struggle.
The 30-year-old has been completely overshadowed this season by Lucas Digne, who has been in unbelievable form on the opposite side of Everton’s defence.
And the time may now have come for Silva to admit that he needs to upgrade his options at right-back.
