Tom Rogic signed a new contract at Celtic in the summer committing his future at the club until 2023.

This will make Celtic feel relatively secure over the midfielder, but his outstanding form threatens to change that.

Rogic has been terrific in recent weeks and spearheaded Celtic’s return to form after a stuttering start to the season.

The Australian international has four goals and four assists.

Three assists came in a single game last month as Celtic demolished St Johnstone 6-0 away from home.

Rogic has come a long way since his injury interrupted start to life at Celtic and he is now a key player for the club, trusted totally by manager Brendan Rodgers.

Yet as his form continues, Celtic will have to be concerned as to how long it will be before a big club abroad starts showing their interest in the midfielder.

Southampton were named as suitors in the summer by The BBC. If he carries on, then bigger clubs than the Saints will sit up and take notice in the 25-year-old.

Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk has flourished since leaving Celtic, and was bought for £75 million by Liverpool earlier this year.

Rogic has the potential to star in the English Premier League too.

Celtic will be determined to keep him after losing Moussa Dembele, but whether it be in one year or two years time, Rogic may need a new challenge if he continues to improve, especially if their European form cannot reach the heights they aspire to.
