Some Leeds United fans have been left excited after Rodrigo de Paul was omitted from Udinese’s squad last night.
Fanta Calcio claimed this morning that Leeds have now reached an agreement for De Paul with Udinese worth £31 million, and that makes sense as the Italian side actually left him out of their pre-season squad yesterday.
That now development has offered real hope to Leeds fans that a deal could be possible.
Leeds supporters’ excitement should be tempered at the moment, as Fanta Calcio’s claims also suggested that he wants to stay in Serie A.
It does seem like the 26-year-old will be leaving Udinese soon though, and the fact they didn’t pick him last night is the clearest indication that his days at the club are numbered.
If Leeds are to win the race for De Paul then he could be one of the signings of the summer in the Premier League.
The 26-year-old has been an outstanding performer in Italy, and would increase the quality available to Bielsa at Elland Road significantly.
