Everton fans have taken to Twitter in anger after hearing why James Rodríguez missed last night’s 1-0 win over Wolves.
As tweeted by the Liverpool Echo’s Everton correspondent Phil Kirkbride, the 29-year-old was absent because he felt fatigued.
It was decided by Everton that he would not be risked.
However, that reason makes his absence even more baffling.
There’s only one game left this season, so what exactly are the Toffees wrapping Rodríguez in cotton wool for?
It would somewhat make sense if Everton’s No.19 was going to EURO 2020.
However, he plays for Colombia, so that obviously isn’t happening.
Understandably, this has infuriated some Everton supporters.

Rodríguez – who earns £90,000-a-week at Goodison Park – is one of the club’s best players, and Everton are still in with a shot of playing in Europe next season.
If Carlo Ancelotti’s side beat Manchester City on Sunday, and other results go their way, they will play in Europe next term.
However, Rodríguez clearly isn’t too bothered about that.

Now, we don’t know how bad his fatigue really is – perhaps he is one game away from a serious injury, and neither he nor the club wants to risk it.
However, when his absence is described purely as ‘fatigue’, it risks annoying lots of supporters – as it clearly has done.
Let’s see what the Everton fans on Twitter have been saying about Rodríguez after hearing why he missed the 1-0 win over Wolves…
