Arsenal signed Brazilian talent Gabriel Martinelli last week.

Football London has reported that Edu could be officially appointed as Arsenal’s new Director of Football next week.
The Brazilian will replace Sven Mislintat after the former Borussia Dortmund scout quit the North London club earlier this year.
Edu, who played for Arsenal during Arsene Wenger’s reign, was Coordinator of the Brazil national team and is understood to be leaving that role to return to North London.
But has the 41-year-old already made his first signing for the Gunners?
Arsenal announced a deal to sign Gabriel Martinelli last week. This is an 18-year-old attacker who played for Ituano, a team in the fourth tier of Brazilian football.
To call him an obscure signing would be an understatement. He is so obscure, in fact, that only somebody working in and around Brazilian football can have known about him – Edu.
Interestingly, Juninho Paulista, set to replace Edu in his role as Brazil’s Coordinator, is club president of Ituano.
He might not be officially at Arsenal yet, but it’s very plausible that Edu’s work in North London is already underway nonetheless.
