The midfielder has signed a one-year deal at Selhurst Park after leaving Arsenal this summer.

Crystal Palace have completed the signing for Mathieu Flamini on a free transfer, following his release from Arsenal this summer.
The midfielder has signed a deal until the end of the season after being allowed to leave the Emirates Stadium at the end of last season.
He arrives to add some much-needed competition for Alan Pardew in the centre of midfield, especially after he allowed Mile Jedinak to join Aston Villa in the summer transfer window.
The decision to let the Australian leave was met with dismay by some fans after he had established himself as a fan favourite over the years.

So does Flamini represent an improvement on Jedinak? Here is how they compared in the stats last season.
First and foremost it is worth noting that Jedinak played 11 more games than Flamini last season, so that has an effect.
Nonetheless, they show that the players were actually level as they came out on top in four areas apiece.

On a per game basis, Jedinak won more tackles and more defensive duels, as well as winning the ball back in the midfield third more often and posting more ball recoveries.
Flamini though won more interceptions per game and also posted fewer unsuccessful touches per game than the Australian.
His passing was also better as made more successful passes per game and enjoyed a better overall passing accuracy than the former Eagles man.
