This week has seen Tottenham Hotspur attacker Erik Lamela linked with a move away from the club in the summer.
The Argentine, who was the club’s record signing until the summer arrival of Moussa Sissoko, is expected to miss the rest of the season with his current injury problems and it appears Spurs are interested in letting him go considering his fitness woes.
Inter Milan have been immediately linked with the player, who has been a long-term target, but AS Monaco are also believed to be keen.
According to Corriere dello Sport, the French Ligue 1 leaders are keen on adding the player to their first-team.
So should Spurs use that interest to their advantage?
Tottenham are said to be one team interested in the Monaco talent Kyllian Mbappe. The French forward, who has been compared in playing style to Arsenal legend Thierry Henry, is believed to be on the radar of Spurs and several other Premier League sides.
L’Equipe however recently reported that Tottenham would need to pay around £68 million to lure him away. That would be a massive sum of money for the usually frugal Spurs to part with.

But Tottenham could have a trump card in Lamela.
If they were to perhaps offer the Argentine as part of any deal, they could easily hope to wipe £20 million from that asking price.
It would still make Mbappe their club record signing, but it would be a vastly cheaper deal than before.
Lamela might be their golden ticket to getting their very own Thierry Henry.
