Celtic defender Dedryck Boyata is reportedly in demand in the summer transfer window.

Agents of Dedryck Boyata have held face-to-face talks with Celtic, according to The Scottish Sun.

It has been reported that the representatives of Boyata met with key members of the Celtic board and the discussions were conducted amicably.

Resolution close?

Boyata’s future at Celtic is wrapped up in uncertainty, with Sevilla, Lazio, Sassuolo, Fenerbahce and Olympiakos all reported by The Scottish Sun to be interested in the former Manchester City central defender.

According to The Scottish Sun, Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers believed that the 27-year-old centre-back was fit for Tuesday’s Champions League qualifiers against AEK Athens, but the defender ruled himself out due to injury.

Boyata is an important player for the Hoops, and it would make sense for the Glasgow giants to retain his services for the 2018-19 campaign.

With Celtic and his agents having reportedly held amicable discussions over the future of the Belgium international, it does seem that the situation of the 27-year-old – who joined the Bhoys from Manchester City in the summer of 2015 for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £1.5 million – is about to be resolved.
