The Glasgow Rangers defender is improving by the week.

When Danny Wilson first returned to Rangers’ starting XI, the club’s fans were quick to bemoan an accident waiting to happen. However, the 25-year-old has been anything but under the guidance of interim boss Graeme Murty and, on recent evidence, he could yet go down as a great Gers centre-back.
There is still plenty of work to be done, and neither Wilson nor the Rangers fan base will be getting carried away. Yet the simple fact is the defender is vastly improved and is now able to make an impact at both ends of the pitch.

Not only is the Rangers man impressing at the back, he is also adding goals to his game, with vital goals in successive matches against Aberdeen and Ross County.
Goal-scoring centre-backs are a rare commodity in football and Wilson looks willing to make up for lost time, delivering the kind of performances that will win over all but his harshest critics.

If Murty can iron out some of Wilson’s remaining flaws, there is no reason why the centre-back cannot become a major player at Ibrox rather than a much-maligned back-up option, which he has been to date.
Whoever becomes Rangers’ next permanent manager, they have another impressive option in Wilson and, while he will always have his doubters, he looks to be heading in only one direction after his recent performances.
