Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly in talks to sign the PSG winger.

Lucas Moura #7 of Paris Saint-Germain is pursued by Moustapha Seck #27 of AS Roma during the second half at Comerica Park on July 19, 2017 in Detroit, Michigan.

According to popular football news website Football.London, Spurs and PSG are still some way apart on their respective valuations on Lucas Moura, whilst personal terms are also yet to be agreed.

Tottenham are willing to pay around £22 million, according to the Telegraph, but the French giants want closer to £30 million, according to France Football.

Whilst there is still around 60 hours remaining until the transfer window slams shut, there is a chance that this deal might not happen, and Spurs fans would surely be furious if that was the case.

So, could Daniel Levy’s stubbornness end up costing Tottenham…again?

The north London outfit’s chairman has become notorious for his frugal approach to transfers, and his hard nosed business acumen.

Tottenham Hotspur Chairman Daniel Levy looks on during the Barclays Premier League match between Tottenham Hotspur and Everton at White Hart Lane on August 29, 2015 in London, England.

Sometimes that serves the club well, of course, but there has been occasions when it has proven to be detrimental to Spurs’ hopes of making genuine progression.

It is clearly evident that Tottenham need another attacking, creative midfielder, to help supplement the likes of Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli.

The Brazilian winger would be an exceptional signing for the Lilywhites, and in today’s ludicrously inflated transfer market, £30 million really is not a huge sum of money to pay, and Levy should not hesitate to back Mauricio Pochettino sufficiently enough to get the deal done.

Tottenham fans should not hold their breath though…
