According to a report from the Mirror, Tottenham are interested in signing £60 million-rated Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha this summer, but he is really good enough to help take Mauricio Pochettino’s side to the next level?

Spurs were mightily impressive last season, securing Champions League football once again, but if they are to mount a sustained challenge for the Premier League title this term, Pochettino must surely strengthen his squad by adding a real x-factor talent to his ranks.

The 25-year-old is an able performer, of that there is no question, but it is hard to argue a case for him to be considered as world class – look no further than his incredibly average attacking stats over the past few years.
In 304 career appearances, Zaha has racked up just 44 goals and 56 assists – a rather meagre tally for someone who operates in such an advanced position.
The Ivory Coast international possesses plenty of pace, and it could be argued that his direct playing style would be a real asset for Tottenham, but he really does lack any kind of end product, and Spurs do not need another player who flatters to deceive.
Zaha is an extremely useful player, and he would be a real asset for any side in and around the middle of the Premier League table, but to suggest that he would help Tottenham reach the next level is foolhardy to say the very least.
£60 million is also quite simply an extortionate valuation of the winger, and Spurs will be better of looking elsewhere.
