Leeds United have few options at centre-back, so why isn’t Ouasim Bouy being considered?

Leeds United’s defensive situation is getting a little desperate.
Injuries have decimated their side, and left the Whites playing untested youngsters Paudie O’Connor and Hugo Diaz earlier this week.
Manager Paul Heckingbottom has even admitted he considered recalling prospect Liam Kitching from his loan in non-league football.
All this makes it even more bemusing that summer signing Ouasim Bouy is nowhere to be seen.

Bouy was signed last summer on a free transfer after his release by Juventus.
He has more than 90 professional appearances under his belt, in Spain, Italy, Greece, Germany and Holland.
His continued omission from the Leeds squads, considering the injury crisis, is growing more than a little farcical.
Bouy is rarely even mentioned by manager Paul Heckingbottom, despite his ability to play in both midfield and defence.

It was at centre-back where he lined up on loan at Cultural Leonesa earlier this season.
His spell in Spain was not a success, but he did not embarrass himself, and managed to get game time under his belt.
Bouy’s 2018 at Leeds has been bemusing, especially considering he played and scored in an under-23 friendly last month.
If ever Leeds need to see what they have with Bouy, now is the time, but instead the mystery over why he was signed appearances to be growing.
