Everton are reportedly hoping to sign Arsenal’ striker Danny Welbeck in January; could this force Cenk Tosun out of Goodison Park?

Cenk Tosun will be hoping that his goal in Everton’s 3-0 win against Fulham last Saturday can breathe fresh life into his Goodison Park career.
The Turkish striker scored for the first time in 11 games against the Cottagers, converting a perfectly flighted Theo Walcott cross with a close-range header. But this was a chance even the most out-of-sorts attacker could not really miss, and the jury is still out about whether Tosun is good enough to be Everton’s number one centre forward.
Reports in the Mirror claiming that the Merseysiders are planning a January move for Arsenal’s out-of-contract England international Danny Welbeck suggest that Tosun has his doubters within Goodison Park, too.

Should Welbeck arrive, with the Mirror claiming he is nowhere near agreeing a new deal at the Emirates Stadium, Tosun risks falling to third in the pecking order, with head coach Marco Silva seemingly keen to trial Richarlison at centre forward.
Tosun has from now until January to find form on a consistent basis and prove that he can be relied on after all.
But a record of six goals in 21 league games is hardly befitting a £27 million striker.
