Rangers just cannot let Celtic win the race for Harry Wilson.
According to Talksport, Celtic are eyeing a loan for Harry Wilson.
Wilson has been linked with their rivals Rangers, who have already signed one Liverpool youngster on loan, Ovie Ejaria.
Ejaria and Wilson had very different spells in the English Championship last season on loan. Ejaria strugged against relegated Sunderland and Wilson tore up the league with a prolific spell for Hull.
Rangers’ hiring Steven Gerrard was supposed to give them a fast track to Liverpool’s top youth talent.
Getting in Ejaria was a step in the right direction, but losing Wilson to Celtic would be a real embarrassment for Rangers.
Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers’ has Liverpool connections of his own, but he has not utilised them to sign any Reds youngsters during his two years in charge in Glasgow.
Choosing to do so now, arguably for Liverpool’s most exciting young winger, would be a real power play from the champions.
It would put Rangers in their place in the process, before a ball is kicked, and on the pitch it would help Celtic extend the gap between themselves and Gerrard’s pretenders.
If Gerrard has any hope of title success with Rangers, he needs to stop Celtic signing Wilson and win the race for the Gers.
