West Ham United have reportedly made an approach for the pacy 24-year-old.

According to a report from Univision, West Ham United have made a £4million bid for Mexican international Jurgen Damm, and it is a worrying suggestion that Hammers boss Slaven Bilic could be about to make the same mistakes all over again.
Last summer Hammers fans dreamed of big-name signings but were instead lumbered with Simone Zaza, Alvaro Arbeloa, Havard Nordtveit and Jonathan Calleri to name a few.

It had been hoped that Bilic would dig deep this summer in a bid to significantly strengthen his side, and while a swoop for the outstanding Kelechi Iheanacho would be a huge step in the right direction, Damm is nowhere near the quality required.
West Ham already have one of the best right wingers in the Premier League in the form of Michail Antonio, and while the 27-year-old’s versatility has seen him operate all over the pitch he should be played in his best position when he recovers from injury.

Damm is fast – very fast – but that is about it. At 24 he should have learned to utilise his key attribute in order to provide plenty of goals and assists, but nine goals and 12 assists in 87 appearances for his current club Tigres is poor for such an attack-minded player.
This season he managed only five goals and three assists in 34 games and West Ham should be aiming much higher.
He may be available for a cut-price fee but what is the point of signing an average player on the cheap when you are hoping to reach the next level?
The time has come for West Ham to be brave in the transfer market and Damm is not the answer.
