Nottingham Forest have produced some top young talent of late.

It’s been a fairly miserable season for Nottingham Forest supporters, with the club yet again floundering in the Championship, still potentially facing a relegation fight between now and the end of the season.
After a poor start to the season, and the falling through of a potential American takeover, Nottingham Forest parted ways with manager, Phillipe Montanier, handing the reigns to long-time servant Gary Brazil, who has been working with the youth academy.
Though they’ve not had much to smile about this season, one positive thing Forest fans can take from this season is the emergence of a number of promising young players. Last season, Forest fans saw midfielders Ben Osborn, who has been one of Forest’s better players this season, emerge into the first team along with talented young winger, Oliver Burke.
After a tremendous start to the season, Burke soon found himself on his way to German side RB Leipzig, and is now helping them push for European places next season.

Along with Osborn and Burke, Forest fans have also seen players like Joe Worrall, Matthew Cash and Ben Brereton come through this season, with all three getting plenty of game time under interim boss, Brazil.
The latter of which, Brereton, has impressed Forest fans plenty. At just 17-years-old, Brereton is leading the line with Britt Assombalonga, keeping players like Ross McCormack out of the starting line-up, and he has a goal or assist in three out of his last four matches.

Speaking to the Nottingham Post recently about Brereton, Forest midfielder Ben Osborn said: “Ben has done really well. Even at the start of the season he was scoring one if not two goals in the under-23 side every week.
“His performances for the first team since then have been brilliant. He is still young, there are a few more bits he needs to learn just yet. But his willingness and attacking runs have been outstanding. He gives us another option.
“For 17 it is unbelievable. I have been really impressed with him. But let’s keep the speculation to a minimum though, eh? Because we do not want him to leave in the future, do we?”

With Brazil taking the reigns until the end of the season, it’ls likely that Forest fans will be seeing a lot more of Brereton and the club’s other youth players between now and May. Could the next Oliver Burke be already in the making at the City Ground?
