If Bayern Munich do sell Thiago Alcantara, could he be a good option to replace Mousa Dembele at Spurs?

Tottenham Hotspur have a big gap to plug in central midfield this summer with Sky Sports reporting that Mousa Dembele is likely to leave the club.
Both AC Milan and Inter Milan have shown interest, as have several sides in China, with chief scout Steve Hitchen having been on the hunt for a long term replacement for Dembele since at least December.

This has lead Spurs to Geoffrey Kondogbia – who has since joined Valencia instead – Lille’s Yves Bissouma, Abdoulaye Doucoure of Watford and Red Bull Salzburg starlet Amadou Haidara.
All of these options appear to make sense on the face of it, with the North Londoners looking to exactly replicate the physicality that Dembele shows in the middle, but perhaps they should take a different approach?
The alternative

While Vidal may be the name that immediately jumps out as the obvious Dembele alternative, perhaps a cultured manager like Mauricio Pochettino might be more tempted by the technique and creativity of Thiago.
After all, it is not as if the Spain international is not used to playing in a deeper role and while in a similar mould to Christian Eriksen, is much happier sitting in front of the defence and starting the play from a deep lying position.
