Is Anthony Gordon a Liverpool fan? Many Everton fans have asked this on Google as the 21-year-old finds himself in the headlines.
The Everton No.10 missed training at Finch Farm on Wednesday and Thursday – according to Sky Sports – as he aims to leave Goodison Park before the transfer window slams shut.
Understandably, that has angered Everton fans, as things are already quite a mess on the blue half of Merseyside following the sacking of Frank Lampard, with the Toffees joint-bottom of the Premier League.

Well, there have been several pieces of evidence which evoke confusion around the situation.
Firstly, Gordon appeared to display a love for the Toffees from an early age when posting a photo of himself as a child alongside his “idol” Leighton Baines, while wearing Everton training gear.
The England Under-21 international was also released by Liverpool at the age of 11, a development which he revealed affected him “mentally” and dented his confidence in an interview with Everton.
Therefore, it could be argued that Gordon has little love for Liverpool, and plenty of admiration for Everton seeing as they picked him up and provided a platform for his professional career.
Having said that, it is hard to believe that an Everton fan would skip two training sessions in an attempt to leave Goodison Park with so much already going wrong at the club.
The Bobble – one of the most reliable accounts on Twitter for Everton news – has previously stated in a podcast that Gordon is, in fact, a Liverpool fan, and doesn’t feel like he can call Goodison Park his home.
For what it’s worth, we are inclined to believe that.
The Daily Mail state that Gordon has told Everton he will not return to the club as he is determined to leave before the transfer deadline – in that respect, he surely cannot claim to be a fan of the Toffees given the way he is behaving.
