The Leeds United boss admitted on Friday that he would analyse the goalkeeping situation.

There can be little doubt that Leeds United’s Felix Wiedwald had another difficult game on Friday.
Leeds slumped to a disappointing 3-0 defeat at Middlesbrough as the likes of Patrick Bamford – who bagged a hat-trick – and Adama Traore ran United ragged at times.
But the German goalkeeper did the Whites no favours and Wiedwald was questionable in the second goal by allowing Bamford’s left-footed strike to squirm underneath him.

The former Werder Bremen man was also uninspiring when it came to claiming crosses and head coach Paul Heckingbottom admitted afterwards that he was looking at the goalkeeping situation.
And you wonder whether such comments could indicate that the new Leeds boss could potentially bring Andy Lonergan back into the first XI for Wednesday’s visit of Wolves if he is fit.
The 34-year-old has been left out of Heckingbottom’s last two matchday squads due to a stiff neck and no update was given by the Whites boss at his press conference on Thursday, so Lonergan could at least return to the squad to face his former team in midweek.

Lonergan, who has played once since November, isn’t a lot better than Wiedwald, and his brief stint as Thomas Christiansen’s first-choice keeper toward the end of 2017 proved as much.
But it does seem possible that he’ll be determined to prove a point not only to Heckingbottom, but to Wolves after the Molineux club released him last summer.
On this form, Wiedwald is only going to get worse and Lonergan isn’t looking like a bad alternative at the moment.
