Wolverhampton Wanderers, Crystal Palace and Southampton were all linked with moves for Okereke in 2019.

Scouts from Premier League clubs including Wolverhampton Wanderers, Crystal Palace and Southampton will descend on Club Brugge’s Jan Breydel Stadium on Wednesday, according to HLN.

Brugge play LASK Linz in the second leg of their Champions League play-off leg tie, at which it is claimed that representatives of Manchester United, Manchester City and Barcelona will also be present.

There is as yet no indication as to who the aforementioned sides are watching, but with a reported summer target of Wolves, Crystal Palace and Southampton expected to feature it is perhaps reasonable to assume that he will be the primary focus of at least those three sides’ attention.

David Okereke was a Spezia player when The Sun credited Wolves, Palace and Saints with an interest earlier this year, but later signed for Brugge on a four-year deal at a rumoured cost of £7.2 million.

Okereke has effectively replaced Wesley Moraes after the Brazilian striker’s transfer to Aston Villa and has helped to ease his new side’s transition between the two with four goals (and one assist) in his first seven games for them, across all competitions.

Having done so, he has perhaps also started to dispell doubts about his ability to step up from Italy’s second tier to the Premier League.

And should his bright start continue, extending into the Champions League group stage and maybe beyond, then Okereke could soon find himself competing with Wesley in the English top-flight – potentially as a Wolves, Crystal Palace or Southampton player.
