Milot Rashica’s attitude over the last few games has left a lot to be desired with former Germany hero Mario Basler believing that the alleged Liverpool target has had his head turned, while speaking to Sport1.

If Werder Bremen are to put together a run of results capable of lifting them out of the relegation scrap, they will need the explosive Kosovan forward to be at the absolute top of his game.

Rashica was far and away Werder’s most impressive performer during the first half of the campaign, sparking apparent interest from a whole host of Premier League clubs including Southampton and Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool (Weser Kurier).

Aston Villa were also linked with the £33 million winger, via The Mirror. Wolves and West Ham are in the race too, if Der Spiegel are to be believed.

But is it merely a coincidence that Rashica’s form has nosedived as soon as his name started to appear in the gossip columns? Basler, a 30-time Germany international who scored Bayern Munich’s opener in that 1999 Champions League final, doesn’t think so.

” Maybe he already has another club in his head. That would be irritating,” Basler says. “I can see him walking around – even if he is a great footballer. I sometimes wonder what he’s looking for on the pitch.”

Rashica has produced just one assist and no goals in his last ten Bundesliga games and was comfortably outshone by another Anfield-linked star, Kai Havertz, during Monday night’s 4-1 home defeat to Bayer Leverkusen.
