Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has been speaking about refereeing decisions that have affected the Gers and Neil Lennon’s Celtic.

As quoted on PLZ Soccer – shown below – Gerrard is not pleased that Rangers striker Kemar Roofe has been suspended retrospectively, and that Celtic striker Albian Ajeti faced a similar charge.

Rangers striker Roofe has been banned for two matches after being found guilty of dangerous foul play when he challenged St. Johnstone midfielder Murray Davidson.

Celtic striker Ajeti faced a two-match ban for allegedly diving to win a penalty against Kilmarnock, but he was cleared.

Rangers manager Gerrard has bemoaned the decision on Roofe, and has said that the Gers and Celtic are held to different standards when it comes to refereeing decisions.

Former Hibernian forward Tam McManus, who now works as a pundit for PLZ Soccer, has strongly criticised Gerrard for his comments, pointing out that his side have benefitted because of refereeing decisions going in their favour this season.

Rangers are at the top of the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 76 points from 28 matches, while Celtic currently find themselves second with 58 points from 27 games.
