Aston Villa have loaned out Scott Hogan, after Dean Smith deemed him to be surplus to requirements.

Aston Villa forward Scott Hogan has been slated for his display for Ireland against Switzerland last night.
Hogan only came on as a substitute, as Ireland looked for a way back into their match in Euro 2020 qualifying.
However, the Villa forward failed to have a positive impression, as Switzerland went on to beat Mick McCarthy’s side 2-0.
And Hogan, who was loaned out by Villa to Stoke City, was widely criticised for his cameo display.
Hogan has suffered a difficult time ever since he signed for Villa, with his career at Dean Smith’s side seemingly coming to an end.
Smith decided to loan out Hogan in the summer, with Keinan Davis now ahead of him in the pecking order at Villa Park.
Hogan’s form at Stoke has not suggested that he can make an impact in the Premier League for Villa so far, even though he did score in his last appearance before the international break.
The 27-year-old is likely to be in action again at the weekend, when Stoke take on Fulham.
