Ipswich Town’s Bartosz Bialkowski has been linked with a move away from Portman Road.
According to a report in the East Anglian Daily Times, Ipswich Town goalkeeper Bartosz Bialkowski is open to the idea of a fresh start as he plots a move to a higher level than League One.
It is claimed in the report that three Championship clubs have been in contact with Ipswich to express their interest in the player, although no official offer has been made yet.
The 31-year-old had a difficult campaign at Ipswich after reaching the World Cup with Poland last summer.
After initially starting the season as Ipswich’s number one, he was soon dropped by former manager Paul Hurst for the clash with rivals Norwich City, finding out only an hour before the game.
Bialkowski returned to regular first-team action under Paul Lambert, but he has been powerless to prevent the Tractor Boys’ relegation to League One despite improvements under the former Norwich boss.
At 31, the Poland international still has a few more years ahead of him at potentially a higher level and with a contract until 2021, Ipswich are in a position to hold out for a decent figure.
The East Anglian Daily Times claims Birmingham City failed with a £3 million bid for him last summer. It could take a similar fee to prize him away from Portman Road this time around.
The Suffolk club’s other goalkeeper Dean Gerken is out of contract this summer. Should both shot-stoppers depart the club, Paul Lambert will be tasked with signing at least two more goalkeepers as replacements.
