Reading’s Marc McNulty has opened the door to a potential summer exit.

Reading striker Marc McNulty has told reporters for the BBC that he just wants to play football next season as he opens the door to a potential summer move – comments which should be of interest to Ipswich Town.
“I’ve still got three years left at Reading, so I will need to have a conversation with the manager and the board down there. I’m desperate. I’m laughing now, but I probably know as much as you,” McNulty said.
“I just want to play football. I don’t have a reference. If it’s Scotland, England or Japan, it doesn’t really make a difference to me. As long as I feel that the manager trusts me and I get a good run in the team, that’s all that matters to me.”
Marc McNulty joined Reading from Coventry City last summer for a reported £1 million fee on a four-year deal. However, he soon fell out of favour at the Madejski Stadium and manager Paul Clement was later sacked.
Incoming boss Jose Gomes was said to have put the striker on the transfer list in January, with McNulty eventually moving to Hibs on loan where he has netted six league goals in 11 starts,
McNulty, 26, still has plenty of ability despite struggling to get going at Reading. He netted 23 league goals for Coventry last season as they won promotion to League One.

Ipswich, following their confirmed relegation from the Championship, will be targeting automatic promotion from League One next season and McNulty could be the ideal player to fire in the goals.
The Tractor Boys are desperately short upfront, scoring just 33 goals in 44 games this term. Current duo Collin Quaner and Will Keane are only at Portman Road on loan and are at present set to leave this summer.
Ipswich boss Paul Lambert told the East Anglian Daily Times earlier this month how signing a striker this summer is a priority, and McNulty’s comments should prompt them to make a move.
