Matthew Pennington is returning to Everton from Ipswich Town.

Everton-owned central defender Matthew Pennington has expressed his disappointment on Twitter at his season being finished at Ipswich Town.
Pennington joined Championship club Ipswich on a season-long loan deal from Premier League outfit Everton in the summer of 2018.
The 24-year-old central defender has been playing well for the Tractor Boys, but the former Leeds United loanee will miss the rest of the season.
As announced on Ipswich’s official Twitter page, the defender has returned to Everton after rupturing his ankle ligaments in training.
Pennington has taken to Twitter to express his disappointment at his season-ending injury, and the centre-back has also praised Ipswich.
Ipswich fans have responded to the 24-year-old’s post on Twitter, and they seem gutted at his injury and have praised him for his performances for the club this season.
According to WhoScored, Pennington made 30 appearances in the Championship for Ipswich this season, scoring one goal in the process.
Paul Lambert’s side are at the foot of the Championship table at the moment with 24 points from 39 matches and look set to be relegated to League One at the end of the season.
