HITC Sport understands Ipswich Town are lining up a loan move for Arsenal starlet Ainsley Maitland-Niles.

HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club that Ipswich Town are confident of securing a loan move for Arsenal starlet Ainsley Maitland-Niles.

Maitland-Niles is regarded as one of the best young prospects to emerge from Arsenal’s youth system in recent years.

The 17-year-old has been at Arsenal since the age of nine and his progress has seen him attract interest inside the corridors of power at the Emirates.

The skilful winger was a regular in the Under 21 side last season and his rapid development saw him break into Arsene Wenger’s first-team.

Maitland-Niles made his senior debut as a substitute in the Champions League win over Galatasaray in Turkey last December .

The pacy attacker went on to make two more first-team appearances, one in the Premier League and the other in the FA Cup as Wenger tried to blood the youngster.

Wenger is a big fan of Maitland-Niles and feels he would be best served to go out on loan next season to aid his development by getting regular first-team action.

A number of clubs are thought to have made enquiries about the England Under 17 and Under 18 international, but Ipswich are hopeful of winning the race for his signature.
