Ipswich Town opened the season with an 11-game unbeaten run in League One, but have now lost twice in a row.

Paul Lambert’s side lost 2-0 at Accrington Stanley on Sunday afternoon, and were looking to hit back on Wednesday night as they returned to Portman Road to face Rotherham United.

However, Lambert saw his side slip to another 2-0 defeat, with Matt Crooks scoring early on before adding a second after the break, handing Rotherham all three points.

That now means that Ipswich have lost top spot to Peterborough United, and fans are starting to grow irritated with some of Lambert’s decisions.

One that’s causing frustration is keeping Anthony Georgiou on the bench, despite the Tottenham loanee being able to offer width and pace to the Ipswich side.

The 22-year-old has yet to start a single league game for the Tractor Boys, playing just 172 minutes across seven substitute appearances, leaving fans a little annoyed.

Cyprus international Georgiou came on as a 59th minute substitute against Rotherham, leading to fans slating Lambert on Twitter for not using him sooner, branding his reluctance to use him ‘baffling’.

Others celebrated his introduction by saying it was about time he was brought on, with some praising Georgiou for making an instant impact when he did come on, and Tottenham will hope to see him play more in the coming months – which may be more likely after two goalless games in a row for Ipswich.
