Ipswich Town’s Alan Judge has been linked with Queens Park Rangers.
Ipswich Town manager Paul Lambert believes the Alan Judge transfer saga is now over after Queens Park Rangers saw their latest bid of £650,000 turned down, the East Anglian Daily Times report.
“Sitting here I think it’s put to bed. That’s not my concern. My real concern is about the lack of players coming in. That’s my concern. He’s fine, totally fine, the only thing Judge lacks is gametime. Everything else is fine and there’s no problem there,” Lambert explained.
Queens Park Rangers have now reportedly failed with three bids for Judge this summer, with the East Anglian Daily Times claiming the latest offer was for a £650,000 fee.
Judge joined Ipswich last January from Brentford on a short-term deal, but he extended his contract for another two years at the end of the campaign despite the Tractor Boys’ relegation to League One.
QPR, however, employed Mark Warburton as their new manager this summer and the former Brentford boss is a big fan of Judge having worked with the Irishman during his spell at Griffin Park.
The 30-year-old still possesses the ability to play in the Championship, and he was one of the leading playmakers in the division prior to his lengthy injury he ironically suffered at Portman Road. Between 2014-16, Judge posted 17 goals and 24 assists in 73 league starts.
Ipswich are no doubt desperate to keep hold of him. A fit and firing Judge will be one of the best players in League One, and possibly the Blues’ ticket to an immediate return to the Championship.
