Mick McCarthy is one of the most interesting and outspoken managers in football today, with his quick wit and outbursts continually grabbing the attention of the media.
As reported by the Ipswich Town website, the 57-year-old has said that he is not worried about his side’s recent goal drought despite failing to score for three games running now.
Ipswich played out a 0-0 draw with Brighton Hove & Albion last night which followed their 1-0 loss against Leeds United and another goalless encounter against Aston Villa. When questioned about the game, McCarthy chose to stay positive.
“It was a fair result against a good side,” he told the club’s official website.
“It was a solid performance and if you’ve got that and are not conceding goals, then it gives you the platform to build on.

“We’ve had Villa, Norwich and Brighton here and none have beaten us and I expect them all to be in the top six come the end of the season.
“We want to try and play the ball around and have more thrust, be a bit more dynamic and create more chances and we will get there and we will get there if we are solid as a team.”
Ipswich currently find themselves in 13th after ten league games, just four points off the all important play-off positions. McCarthy is looking to gain promotion back to the top flight with the Tractor Boys, where he last managed with Wolves back in 2012. His latest attempt at reaching the big time will continue when his side host Huddersfield Town this weekend.
