Milan Badelj, Khouma Babacar, Federico Bernardeschi; have any Fiorentina players not been linked to the Premier League?

Uruguayan international midfielder Matias Vecino admits that that he would jump at the chance of moving to the Premier League, the Liverpool Echo reports.

The rugged enforcer has played 14 times in Serie A for an underperforming Fiorentina this season, sharing midfield duties with reported Tottenham target Milan Badelj.

However, while the Croatian star looks set to choose a switch to AC Milan over an extensive change of scenery, Vecino admits that it has been a lifelong dream to ply his trade in England where his sharp passing and excellent control would undoubtedly be appreciated.

And, while he accepts that it may be some time before he ups sticks from Serie A, the 25-year-old has hinted that the legendary status of compatriot Luis Suarez at Anfield has influenced his preferred choice of destination.

“My dream has always been to play in England, but I don’t know whether I will be here until I am 30 or 35,” Vecino told Corriere Dello Sport, cited by the Liverpool Echo.

“I always liked Liverpool and I would like to follow many other team-mates of my national team.

“[But] it doesn’t mean I will be going to England tomorrow.”

Liverpool are hardly short on midfielders right now, however, with Emre Can, Georginio Wijnaldum and Jordan Henderson all fighting it out for a starting spot at the base of Jurgen Klopp’s team.

However, after impressing in his most consistent Serie A campaign to date in 2015/16, Vecino’s claims will surely have piqued the interest of a number of English clubs on the lookout for an excellent all-rounder.
