Tierney recently returned from a three-month spell on the sidelines due to injury. The 19-year-old left-back is one of the best young players in the Scottish Premiership and has already played twice for Scotland.

Strachan has praised the Celtic teenager and told The National: “He’s a guy who doesn’t give much away. He’s steady and a wonderful player. A top player and I like him as a bloke.”

Tierney is a genuinely talented and promising footballer who has a lot of potential. The Scotland international could become a world-class defender in the coming years.
