Aston Villa are currently inside the play-off positions in the Championship table.
Thomas Hitzlsperger
Villa legend Thomas Hitzlsperger delivered his verdict on Steve Bruce, when writing his column for the club’s official website, suggesting that his experience within the game makes him the ideal man to be at the helm at Villa Park.
The west Midlands outfit have performed relatively well this season, certainly in comparison to last term’s shambolic efforts, and they currently sit in sixth position in the Championship table, although they are nine points adrift of league leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Steve Bruce’s appointment as manager back in October 2016 coincided with a huge rise in expectations, although the 56-year-old failed to deliver instant success.

The Villans seem to be on course to at least challenge for promotion this time around, however, and after some impressive summer signings, things are starting to look up for Bruce’s men.
And Hitzlsperger lavished praise upon Bruce, when writing his column for AVFC.co.uk, labelling the Villa boss as the right man for the job at present:
“Management is an interesting subject in world football at the moment and it’s worth saying that we definitely have the right man for the job at present. I came across Steve Bruce a few times as a player – he’s experienced and has a track record of getting clubs to the Premier League, which he can hopefully do again with the Villa. He knows English football inside out and seems a good appointment in football’s unstable times – whereas before him perhaps we tried something a bit different and it didn’t quite work out.”

Next up for the Villans is a trip to London to take on Queens Park Rangers on Saturday, and a win could take them up to fifth in the table.
