Dharmesh Sheth has claimed that PSG ‘aren’t willing to meet’ the £42 million Sassuolo want for West Ham United transfer target, Gianluca Scamacca, as he told Sky Sports.

The Sky reporter added that West Ham are ‘pushing’ for Scamacca’s talents and they are ‘in talks’ with the Serie A club about discussing a fee for the striker.

For the past few years, there has been a lot of emphasis put on Michail Antonio’s shoulders, with David Moyes using him on a regular basis during their runs in Europe and in the Premier League.

But at 32, it’s obvious that the Hammers need more depth in the forward areas, hence why they are in search of added firepower this summer because they can’t just rely on the Jamaica international.

Will West Ham put the money down for Scamacca if they are really keen on him, well, with PSG seemingly not keen to pay the money Sassuolo want for their player, then it does provide the East London club with a bit of a boost, as Sheth reported.

“The Scamacca is an interesting one because West Ham are pushing to sign the Sassuolo striker,” said Sheth. “They are in talks with Sassuolo about discussing a fee.

“We think Sassuolo want around 50 million Euros (£42 million) for Scamacca. PSG are also interested, but as it stands, we think PSG aren’t willing to meet that valuation. But a striker is a priority situation for West Ham United.”

CAN WEST HAM SECURE EUROPE AGAIN?

That’s going to be the aim for Moyes next season, as the Hammers will target a third consecutive season in Europe.

It has previously been the Europa League, but it’s the newly-formed Europa Conference League for those from London ahead of the new campaign.

But, in order for West Ham to continue looking up, their squad needs refreshing, and most importantly, it needs added depth.

This is where the West Ham owners will be tested and they have the chance to prove just how serious they are about taking the club forward again.
