Darren Bent told his talkSPORT show that he doesn’t think Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is ‘world-class’.
The former Premier League player acknowledged the qualities of Arsenal’s star man but he wasn’t convinced that he should be seen in such high regard.
Whilst Arsenal have stumbled once again in recent seasons, Aubameyang has still been up there in terms of numbers with the league’s big-hitters.
But when it was put to Bent, who has scored over 100 goals in England’s top-flight, that Aubameyang is world-class, he wasn’t so sure.
“Aubameyang being world class, that’s an interesting one,” said Bent. “First time I have heard that.
“I wouldn’t particularly put him in there as a world-class player, but he is very good.”

One thing is for sure, Arsenal’s lack of real progress in the Premier League hasn’t really painted the true picture of how well Aubameyang has played in recent seasons.
He is currently going through a bad patch, but for the most parts, he has been up there competing with the likes of Jamie Vardy for that Golden Boot.
And at the end of the day, it’s all about lifting silverware and he was the difference-maker for the North London club when they won the FA Cup last season.
