Gary Neville told Super Sunday on Sky Sports (22/08/21 at 5:05 pm) that minutes after Arsenal went 2-0 down to Chelsea, he found the conversation between the supporters around him at the Emirates ‘interesting’.
The TV pundit shared that Arsenal fans near Sky’s commentary box were saying ’these are good aren’t they?’ And they were also questioning ‘what are we going to do here?’
Well, they were all valid comments because Thomas Tuchel’s side played like European champions and their London rivals played like a team that aren’t in Europe.
It was yet another game to forget for Arsenal, who were bullied, out-thought and physically-drained by a Chelsea team that had Romelu Lukaku back in their colours.
This is what Neville had to say about what he was hearing from Arsenal around him as their team went 2-0 down yesterday.
“It’s interesting when crowds come back into the stadiums,” said Neville. “And you can just hear the Arsenal fans talking to each other.
“Muttering to each other ‘these are good, aren’t they? What are we going to do here?’. Conversations are going on.”

These are really worrying times for Mikel Arteta and it’s not going to get any easier next week.
Whilst on paper a League Cup tie against Championship side West Brom should be a win for the North London club, if they are knocked out then this will make headlines on top of headlines.
Even if they progress, it’s only a certain Manchester City awaiting them in the Premier League at the weekend.
Either way, Arsenal may well be in a situation where they are three games in and without a single point on the board.
